about
"Django for Halloween" has long been the warm up song me'n the boys play at practice to see how rusty we've gotten since our last hang. Sometimes we totally biff it and it feels real dumb and sometimes we transcend to a gypsy-jazz nirvana of sick drum fills and accidental notes that ring of truth. They say ya never step in the same river twice and this track has shown me that time and time again. (I especially love to count it off out of no where and see how fast Jasen and Chris can react.) We owe a nod to our most unlikely hubby influence here - black metal. In the Early hubby days we were really into black metal and also these youtube bands where they take famous black metal songs and turn them into surf music. This track would not exist without that weird rabbit hole. We hope you will put'er on your most elite halloween playlist as everyone know that surf + minor key = halloween. Have a blessed day.
